Kenmore, NY – July 9, 2019 – Schofield Residence, Ken-Ton’s independent non-profit long term care organization is a 5-STAR out of 5-STAR Nursing Home on Medicare.gov. Medicare assigns the overall star rating based on a nursing home’s performance on key measures: health inspections, quality measures and staffing.
“We’re so pleased to be recognized with this top rating,” notes Olivia Rozycki, administrator of Schofield Residence. “Our staff works very hard and was also awarded 5 out of 5 stars overall for quality measures. This is much above the average for New York State and National averages.”
Each year, more than 300 individuals, ages 50 and up, come to Schofield to heal and, hopefully, go home. Schofield’s rehab offers excellent tailored therapy six days a week and is led by Ashley Smith, Ph.D. Dr. Smith’s team includes thirteen physical and occupational therapists/assistants. Combined, the team has 95 years in therapy experience.
Dr. Richard Carlson, Jr. and Dr. Margaret Eberl oversee the Residence’s medical services with Dawn Friend, RN, director of Nursing. A podiatrist, ophthalmologist, and dentist come in every week or as needed. A certified wound specialist is available at the Residence and on call to assist Schofield Care’s Home Health patients or Adult Day Health Care Program.
