The community is invited to attend free wellness programs offered in September by the Schofield Adult Wellness Center at 3333 Elmwood Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda. All programs are one hour. - Back by popular demand: Proteins, DNA & Chromosomes Part I will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wed., Sept. 9. Learn about how life is controlled from proteins to DNA and the molecule that controls the manufacture of these building blocks.
- Proteins, DNA & Chromosomes Part II will be held on Wed., Sept. 16 at 1:00 p.m. The essential activities of an individual cell will be traced as well as how the cell can determine an individual's sex and evolution of the species.
- Evolution is set for Wed., Sept. 23 at 1:00 p.m. This workshop and the above programs will be presented by Paul Tenser, retired professor of Biology at ECC. The program will discuss the 4 steps of Evolution and the question "What happens next?"
- Non-Surgical Approach to Sleep Apnea & Facial Pain is set for Wed. Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. Gain a better understanding of the dysfunction of the face and jaw and insight on how to remedy it from Jeffrey I. Goldberg, DDS, PLLC, of Goldberg Dentistry.
Schofield's Adult Wellness Center is located inside Schofield Residence, offering short-term rehabilitation, long term care and a dedicated hospice unit in partnership with Hospice Buffalo. Schofield is a not-for-profit long term care and home health care organization founded in 1910 and located at 3333 Elmwood Avenue in Kenmore. More than 700 clients, patients and residents are cared for within Schofield Residence, Schofield Adult Day Health Care Program, and Schofield's Home Health Care Programs in Erie and Niagara counties.
